How To Install Badger Garbage Disposal

Installing a badger garbage disposal can help make your kitchen sink much more efficient and reduce food waste. But it can be intimidating to try and install one yourself if you're not familiar with plumbing and electrical wiring. With the right tools and some patience, however, you can successfully install a badger garbage disposal in your kitchen sink.

Before you begin, make sure you have the right tools and supplies. You'll need a Phillips screwdriver, a pair of wire strippers, a pipe wrench, a tank stopper, and plumbers putty. You'll also need a badger garbage disposal, a power cord for the disposal, a new sink flange and a drain pipe.

Now you're ready to start. Here are the steps to follow:

  • Turn off the power to the disposal at the breaker box. Then, remove the existing drain flange from the sink.
  • Attach the new drain flange to the sink, using the Phillips screwdriver. Make sure it is securely in place.
  • Place the badger garbage disposal onto the sink flange and secure it with the pipe wrench. Make sure it is tightly in place.
  • Wrap the power cord around the disposal and attach it to the bottom of the unit. Then, plug the power cord into a nearby wall outlet.
  • Place the tank stopper over the drain opening in the sink and wrap it with plumbers putty. Then, attach the drain pipe to the disposal unit and the tank stopper.
  • Turn the power back on at the breaker box and test the disposal.

If you follow these steps, you should be able to successfully install a badger garbage disposal in your kitchen sink. Remember to always turn off the power at the breaker box before you begin any installation and to use the right tools and supplies to ensure the job is done properly. With some patience and the right instructions, you should be able to install your badger garbage disposal without any problems.
